Every business entity is establishing plans and projects for the future development. In such a way, the company sets the goals, which it tries to achieve in the set time period, and the auto companies are not the exceptions. Usually, the news reflect the plans, that the company sets for future, but we want to offer now a new look, so to say, to the past, to see if the plans the company set back then were achieved.

Back in 2002 President of the Lincoln Mercury, Mr. Hutchins, said: “Our objectives for the coming decade are quite simple: to strengthen the position of the Lincoln brand in North America, to expand the business and enter the global market.” But on the next week the head of Ford, Jacques Nasser, said: “Before we bought Volvo and Land Rover, we had the idea to display Lincoln on the global market. But now it is not so likely. This does not mean that we completely abandoned such plans, but most likely, Lincoln is a prestigious American brand and we will develop that side of Lincoln more, and not create the new one”.
