In 1917, Leland resigned as president of the company and founded a new Cadillac – Lincoln Motor, which at the first time was a manufacturer of aircraft engines Liberty. After the war, Leland reoriented production to the production of machines of the class “lux”. Back in 1890 an American engineer and industrialist Henry Martyn Leland founded the company in Detroit, Leland & Faulconer for the production of automobile engines. In 1903 he designed his first car, which was named Cadillac. Leland paid special attention to precision machining and their interchangeability.
